The Nomad Hotel – Midtown
The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe with a distinct New York sensibility. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Parisian flat of Garcia’s youth. The 168 rooms are residential in feel and decorated in his classic, timeless style. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, richly textured custom-designed furnishings and original artwork. The soaring ceilings throughout the public spaces provide a fine gathering place to enjoy dining, drinking and socializing.
Stylish rooms have free WiFi, hardwood floors and handmade rugs, walk-in showers, and original artwork, as well as pillow-top mattresses with Italian bedding, desks, minibars, flat-screen TVs and iPhone docking stations; suites add bay windows and extra living space. Some rooms include clawfoot tubs and city views.
Perks include nightly turndown service, a 24-hour gym and a bi-level library, plus an indoor/outdoor rooftop event space, an opulent lounge with a 24-foot-long mahogany bar, and a destination restaurant.
The NoMad hosts a number of events and performances throughout the year in various spaces within the hotel and restaurant. Events are often ticketed, but open to the public and guests of the hotel. More details about currently scheduled events can be found here and will be updated regularly.
